Our projects
At Women Shaping Cities (WSC), our projects seek translate evidence and advocacy into action. Each initiative aims to make cities more inclusive, safe, and livable while centering the everyday realities of women, children, caregivers, and older adults.
Invisible in Motion (IiM)
This program makes visible the everyday mobility realities of caregivers, children, and older adults — groups often overlooked in urban planning. By documenting their journeys, needs, and challenges, we generate evidence that informs national and city policies, ensuring mobility systems reflect the people who sustain families and communities.
Kimathi Street Inclusive Mobility Study
The Kimathi Street Inclusive Mobility Study was undertaken to assess how the street performs as a pedestrian environment and to document existing conditions through a multi-method, evidence-based approach. Rather than relying on a single data source, the study combines technical assessment with lived experience and community input to build a robust and triangulated understanding of street performance.
Leadership Development
For cities to change, more women must lead. This program nurtures and supports women in urban planning, mobility, and leadership
📌 Goal: To equip women with the tools, confidence, and networks needed to lead transformative change in cities.
